Keep your options open

Article Abstract:

It is worth considering investing in options, securities which give the holder the right, but not the obligation, to purchase or sell an underlying asset at a fixed price within a certain time. Options allow the investor to gain exposure to a much larger investment, thus boosting any gains. The most frequently used options are traded options, through which gains can be realized over a very short time span. Experts warn that it is difficult to make money out of options as a speculative investment strategy.

Should you invest in property?

Article Abstract:

Investors tend to look favourably at the property sector when interest rates are declining. The property sector is hard to justify when it is at a premium, but at present the large property companies are at a discount of around 7%. For some smaller property companies, the discount is as much as 25% to 30%. Experts believe that the fundamentals of the property market are strong, with a good demand/supply balance. The main property stocks are Land Securities, MEPC, British Land and Hammerson.
