I couldn't let her suffer

Article Abstract:

Caring for someone who is great pain can be extremely distressing, according to Sophie Jones, who helped her mother, who was suffering from severe cancer, to die by giving her an overdose of morphine. Her mother had in earlier life helped her own mother to die under very similar circumstances. It is possible that such incidents are fairly common, but the vast majority go unrecorded, as the people responsible are very unwilling to confess.
