In search of Starr's quality

Article Abstract:

Ringo Starr announced a new studio album, 'Time Takes Time' in May and a European tour in July. His son, Zak, is in the band. Ringo is not a technical musician but has pioneered a drumming style. In the Beatles era Ringo was extremely popular. Later, he made a few films and did 'Thomas the Tank Engine' on television but mainly spent the 1980s at parties drinking. He first planned a multi-star band and tour in 1976 but his drinking problem prevented him from organising it. He attended a Rehabilitation Centre in Arizona with his wife Barbara Bach in October 1988 and has not had a drink for three and a half years. He still uses the same five-drum Ludwig line-up and has written three of the songs on the album himself.
