Invest in a Swatch before time runs out

Article Abstract:

The Swiss watch industry commisssioned Mr Nicolas Hayek to write a report on its dissolution in 1982 but he designed the ultimate quartz watch and issued new styles twice a year with publicity similar to that for philatelic issues. His marketing methods do not make a distinction between the primary retail market and the collectors' market. Small launch editions have created collectables. Speculators and dealers do not know how many Swatches will be issued in Britain.

Meet the hyenas of the art market

Article Abstract:

Some traders in artworks specialise in visit small local auctions and country house sales where they may be able to spot masterpieces which have gone unrecognised by inexperienced local auctioneers and dealers. These traders, known as 'runners,' then sell these artworks, known as 'sleepers,' for a much higher price at top auctions. These works have in turn become a new tool in the efforts of top auction houses to attract potential bidders.
