Invest in a cottage industry

Article Abstract:

People considering buying a holiday cottage in the country which will be let out privately or commercially for part of the year should ensure that they choose the right type of property in the right location to make a good return on their investment. A holiday home should not only be attractive, but should also be accessible, in an attractive location and near local facilities. The purchaser must be prepared to allow many different families to stay in the property and to ensure that it is always kept clean.

A splash in the back garden

Article Abstract:

A swimming pool is a feature which particularly appeals to a potential house purchaser in the summer, and can be very effective in selling a house. However, some potential purchasers can be put off by the costs involved in maintaining a swimming pool, while others are concerned about the safety aspect. A swimming pool may well help to sell a house, but it is usually more effective to invest in a conservatory or a tennis court.

Peace comes at a good price

Article Abstract:

Property prices in Northern Ireland have traditionally been lower than in mainland UK, but this is changing as a result of the ceasefire. House prices increased by 15% in 1994, and rose by as much as 25% in some areas. People moving to Northern Ireland from mainland UK can no longer expect to obtain a much more attractive house.
