Is this the end of history?

Article Abstract:

There are no longer any certainties regarding the established political and social order as the 20th century draws to a close. Foreign events have become increasingly confused, and there are no clear political leaders. Some long-standing conflicts have begun to be resolved, while others which had remained dormant for many decades have now surfaced again. It is no longer possible to identify any clear global patterns, such as Asian values against western democratic values of Islam against the West.

Paul Ricard

Article Abstract:

Businessman Paul Ricard joined the family wine business at the age of 17. He began to experiment in a laboratory with a more refined version of the traditional aniseed-based spirits that had been banned in 1915. He tested his product illegally in Marseille, France, before the ban on milder types of aniseed spirits was lifted in 1932. He experimented with rice farming during the second world war, and set up a successful business selling his aniseed-based drink thereafter.

'Missing' Rwandan refugees fall prey to whim of big-power rivarly

Article Abstract:

There are still considerable barriers to the creation of a multinational force for central Africa. It remains unclear how large a force can be put together and when it will be despatched, if at all. Planning has been hampered by the voluntary return to Rwanda from Zaire of 500,000 refugees over recent days. There is no detailed information at all about how many Rwandan refugees remain in Zaire, where they are and who is controlling them.
