There is set to be an increase in litigation relating to lottery winnings in the UK. However, it is uncertain whether lottery litigation will become an area of niche practice for lawyers. Most cases have involved basic contract law, and lawyers have also based their arguments on recognized concepts of trust law and the principles of constructive and resulting trusts. However, lottery-related litigation is set to be profitable for the lawyers concerned.
