It's time to set the cliches free

Article Abstract:

Clean Break Theatre, founded by two inmates of Askham Grange women's prison in 1979, has given many women former prisoners and former offenders the opportunity to study writing, acting and stage management. Its courses have allowed a number of women with criminal records to obtain Equity membership. It is shortly to perform Kara Miller's 'Hyacinth Blue,' which focuses on three female cellmates.
