Judge exposes SA police

Article Abstract:

On Apr 23 1992 the Pietermaritzburg Supreme Court found a white police captain, Brian Mitchell and four black special constables, Kehla Ngubane, Thabo Sikhosana, Dumisani Ndwalane and David Khambule, guilty of murder on Dec 3 1988 at Trust Feeds township, Natal. Judge Wilson exposed the South African police policy of employing blacks to do their dirty work. The Inkatha freedom party conspired with the police and the Trust Feeds killings occurred under police instructions. Captain Frank Dutton and Warrant Officer Wilson Magadla solved the case by uncovering evidence previously withheld. The Natal Attorney-General led the prosecution. Brigadier Christo Marx, head of CID in Natal province, had sufficient evidence for arrests but took no action.

Barcelona welcomes you (unless you're black, an Arab or a gypsy)

Article Abstract:

The city of Barcelona, Spain, has gained a very positive international reputation over recent years, being seen as a strong cultural centre. However, evidence of racist attitudes is now damaging the city's reputation. There have been a number of violent attacks on non-Spaniards, and a group named SOS Racisme has denounced four fashionable bars in a leisure complex on Barcelona's waterfront for allegedly having a policy of excluding Arabs, blacks and gypsies. Barcelonans are trying to distance themselves from the racist attacks, claiming that they are being carried out by immigrants from other parts of Spain.
