June is blue and pigs are green

Article Abstract:

Synaesthesia is a psychological phenomenon where any of the five senses combine: seeing-touch, seeing-smell or coloured-hearing, the most usual. It has been known since the 17th century. Hammersmith Hospital, London is conducting research into human perception using a positron emission tomography scanner. Most synaesthetes see the letter 'o' as white but other letters vary. Seeing numbers as colours can distract in calculations. Synaesthesia is more common in artistic women. A theory is that the brain is arranged in separate functional systems tather than interacting.

The whites have had it. Better these days to be a red, a blue, a bronze or a black

Article Abstract:

White turkeys have traditionally been the most popular turkeys for eating at Christmas in the UK. They can grow very large, unlike turkeys such as buffs and crimson dawns, and look better when they are plucked than other varieties. However, public awareness of other types of turkey is now growing, and some people claim that these taste better than white turkeys.
