Keeping tabs on the untouchables

Article Abstract:

It has become common in the UK for communities to strongly protest against the prospect of having a paedophile living in their midst. Convicted paedophiles who are released from prison may find that they cannot settle down to live a normal life, and could even find that their life is in danger, especially if mob rule is allowed to emerge. It is clear that children need to protected from paedophiles, possibly through banning paedophiles from having contact with children. However, paedophiles also need to be protected from mob rule.

Indeed, it is now known that many adults with OCD began to display symptoms in childhood. The main approaches to treating OCD are medication and behaviour therapy. Medication is in the form of drugs which act on the brain chemical serotonin, known to be imbalanced in OCD sufferers.
