Love the revolution, shame about reality

Article Abstract:

Social instability is increasing Iran as ordinary people have to deal with rapidly increasing inflation. They are angered by indications of political corruption, and opposition to president Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani has been fuelled by the death of Ahmed Khomeini, the only surviving son of the Imam, who died soon after writing an article criticising corruption, in circumstances which many people see as suspicious. There is particular anger among the Revolutionary Guards, who sacrificed much to fight for the country and are now facing unemployment and economic collapse.

Does Mr Barak's victory really change anything?

Article Abstract:

The election victory of Israeli Labour party leader Ehud Barak does not really bring the prospect of a true Palestinian state any closer. Barak has not promised to allow the Palestinians to have a capital in part of Jerusalem, Israel, and has not made a commitment to ending the construction of Jewish settlements on Arab land. Barak is better for the Middle East than former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, but there is still considerable progress to be made before real peace can be established.

The damning truth written on the pages of Document No. 3206

Article Abstract:

Evidence is emerging that Dutch troops forming part of the United Nations' 'Protection Force' is Bosnia failed to act on orders to protect people living in the Serb-surrounded enclave of Srebrenica, Bosnia. Instead, they gave up their weapons, armoured vehicles and even their uniforms, and made no effort to defend Srebrenica. They allows Serbs to seek Muslims at the United Nations' headquarters at Potocari, and made no medical assistance available to Muslims.
