Man with a golden touch who holds the key to Tory finance

Article Abstract:

Little is known about the background of new UK Conservative party Treasurer Michael Ashcroft. He is a multimillionaire, with homes in the UK, Florida and Belize, but does not seek publicity. He has a talent for brokering complex deals, and this has led to him being regarded with suspicion in the City of London. Some observers believe that he is backing the Conservative party because he wants to be different from City associates who have shifted their allegiance to New Labour.

Spot of bother on the home front for 'Mrs Brassy.'

Article Abstract:

It has been established that Teresa Gorman, Conservative MP for Billericay, England, did not disclose her ownership of two bedsit properties in south London, England, when making her entry in the Register of Members' Interests. She has gained some respect in the House of Commons, but has attracted controversy because of her outspoken views and her property interests. It is likely that she will resent any further investigation of her business interests.
