Manhattan swings to Labour

Article Abstract:

The UK Labour party has been very successful in raising funds from expatriate Britons in the US, especially New York. The money is going to assist the candidates in four constituencies which the party regards as particularly important in securing a victory in the forthcoming general election. The Labour party has also been instrumental in ensuring that as many expatriate Britons in the US are registered to vote and will do so. The Labour party in the US has gained the support of some high-profile figures, including Brian McNally, the leading British restaurateur in the US.

The Bard gets his Green Card

Article Abstract:

The Royal Shakespeare Company has taken five plays to the US for its first-ever residency there. The company is currently working at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York, NY, where it is holding a three-week workshop for US actors seeking to gain an insight into interpreting Shakespeare. It will then repeat this process at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC. The company faces considerable challenges, particularly because it has chosen Shakespeare plays that are not very accessible.

FBI experts steer clear of bomb theory

Article Abstract:

Experts at the FBI are participating in the investigation into the crash of the Trans World Airline aircraft near New York, but the crash continues to be considered as an accident rather than a bombing. Rescuers have recovered over 100 corpses, some in pieces, others whole. The black boxes with recordings of the flight have not yet been found. Speculation that the investigation might become FBI responsibility has not been confirmed.
