Manufacturers will be cashing in on their chips

Article Abstract:

Sales of Microsoft's new Windows 95 operating system could reach 30 million by the end of 1995 alone, and the product will inevitably have a great influence on hardware and software developments. Many users are likely to decide to upgrade to more powerful computer equipment, thus leading to strong sales for chip manufacturers. In the software sector, the effect is likely to be less positive, with only utility companies in a clear position to benefit.

It's only safe if you have a copy

Article Abstract:

Hard disks are reliable pieces of precision technology which need backing up to protect data stored on them. Data is invaluable so back up is essential. Modern drives run for 150,000 hours or 17 years, but some will fail sooner. Back up disks should be stored away from the computer. Backing up should be easy to encourage use. S & S International, the leading UK data recovery specialist, can rebuild the file structure and recover most of the data.

Launch of new systems keeps pagers afloat

Article Abstract:

Sales of pagers remain relatively strong in the UK, although they have never become really popular. The market is being boosted by the development of 'calling party pays' pagers, which are attracting less wealthy users, and of improved alphanumeric pagers. Latest pagers offer a wide range of facilities, including storing personal messages and receiving messages from PCs.
