She established herself as a successful couturier in London, England, specializing in evening dress. She returned to Ireland, and was joint-master of the North Galway hunt for 38 years. She remained honorary master for the rest of her life. She gained a strong reputation for her strong language and her ability to scare anyone who dared to contradict her.
