Mr Blair must let his 'babes' change the culture of politics

Article Abstract:

The impact of the UK's new women Labour MPs has not been as great as had been anticipated. However, a small number of the new women MPs have been more successful than is generally recognized. Most of their activity has taken place behind the scenes, and this means that the image of women MPs has not improved. Many of the new MPs feel that women are now in a very strong position, so do not see the need to campaign on behalf of women. Furthermore, their work is hampered by the great reluctance of Prime Minister Tony Blair to make gender an issue.

Cherie Booth, barrister, mother, woman of conviction: can't she do better than this?

Article Abstract:

Cherie Booth is the wife of the United Kingdom prime minister, Tony Blair, and she is being presented to the public as fond of fashion and pets. She was brought up by her mother who raised her alone, and she performed better in her law examinations than her husband. She is not allowed to make statements on her own. She should avoid making appearances with her husband if she seeks privacy. She is too talented to perform the role that she has been given, and should be allowed her freedom.

A task for the Cherie at the top

Article Abstract:

Cherie Booth, wife of Labour party leader Tony Blair, has managed to pursue a very successful career, despite having three children. She has benefited from being very intelligent and from being charismatic, making a strong impact on people. However, she has not taken on a 'superwoman' image, and has taken care not to sacrifice her children to her career. She has had to work extremely long hours, and often becomes very tired.
