Mushroom pickers get a code of conduct

Article Abstract:

Fears have arisen which seem to suggest that there may be an overpicking of wild mushrooms occurring. As a result a code of conduct has been introduced for mushroom pickers by English Nature . The strategy is being supported by the Forestry Commission, the Woodland Trust, The National Trust, the British Mycological Society and the Association of British Fungus Groups. The code consists of 30-points and it encourages those who do pick mushrooms to attend a course or a foray on mushroom picking. It also asks that pickers keep damage to vegetation to a bare minimum and not to be greedy. Fears have been stirred as demand for wild fungi in restaurants grows.

Inquisition, blazing rows - or just lunch?

Article Abstract:

It has become increasingly uncommon for families in the UK to eat meals together. Many parents feel that they are too busy to prepare and enjoy family meals, while many families feel that watching television while they eat is more relaxing than talking to each other. Family meals can be tense times, but if conflict can be avoided, then they play a valuable role in family communication. In particular, they can encourage family members to get on better with each other.
