New boss, new PA? Not if you play it right

Article Abstract:

The relationship between a personal assistant and the person for whom he or she works can be very delicate. It can be particularly stressful if the personal assistant must adapt to working with somebody new when the original boss moves on. There could be a tense atmosphere, especially if the personal assistant feels that he or she has abilities that are not recognized by the new boss. It is vital to talk frankly about sensitive issues and to not pre-judge the incoming boss.

The games cable channels want to play

Article Abstract:

Sega's new Sega Channel offers games, tips, competitions and news for cable television subscribers in the UK. This does not go against regulations regarding the relationship between advertising and editorial content, as it is not a broadcast programme service. Instead, computer games software is transmitted from the cable operator to the subscriber's home where it is downloaded. It will be possible to obtain 25 games and information for around 10 pounds sterling a month.

How to beat fear and loathing in the office

Article Abstract:

It has become increasingly common for companies and individuals in the UK to use the services of consultants who specialize in dealing with career dissatisfaction. These consultants use a wide range of techniques designed to help people to discover their true identity type and to identify what motivates them. There seems to be growing demand for these services as people seek to come to terms with job insecurity and rapid changes in the labour market.
