Nursing the US back to health

Article Abstract:

Hillary Rodham Clinton plans to provide health cover for 37 million citizens who do not have medical insurance. Employers insure most Americans for private, selective health care. President Bill Clinton promised that health costs will be reduced from 14% of the national income. The new system will operate within a controlled total budget. Large groups of consumers and businesses will purchase care from networks of doctors, hospitals and insurance companies. Insurers will have to charge everyone the same, but the service may be more basic than they are used to.

Watch out, the Roundheads are back

Article Abstract:

Politicians in the UK are very careful not to be seen to support republicanism, even when many ordinary people are becoming increasingly opposed to the Royal Family. Attacking monarchy could be interpreted as attacking the very heart of British society, and monarchy is inextricably linked with British history. Furthermore, republicanism has some very negative connotations.
