Our vows show this love is so strong

Article Abstract:

Gay marriage can be effective as a rite of passage, according to Chris Farrah-Mills, who married his partner Rick Farrah-Mills in 1996 in a ceremony they devised themselves. He feels that there is strong pressure on lesbian and gay relationships, and that those relationships that survive this pressure must be celebrated. Rick Farrah-Mills felt nervous before the ceremony, but is very grateful for the fact that he has always had very strong support from his mother.

First aid for the mind in a hospital prefab

Article Abstract:

Charing Cross Hospital, London, England, has a walk-in psychiatric clinic established by Dr Sam Baxter in 1982. Staff work in pairs, a psychiatrist and a social woker or community psychiatric nurse, because of the risk of violence. About 10-20 distressed people seek immediate help every weekday. They may be depressed, schizophrenic, alcoholic or overdosing on drugs. General practitioners refer about 1/3 and some come through the Samaritans.
