Peace is the objective

Article Abstract:

Amy Eldon, whose older brother Dan was stoned to death by an angry mob while reporting on the conflict in Somalia for Reuters in Jul 1993, feels that the English side of her is very private, while the American side of her nature, which she has inherited from her mother, is more outgoing. She was greatly helped in coming to terms with her brother's death by making a documentary about photojournalists. Her mother Kathy felt at peace with Dan's death before she and Amy went to Somalia to make the documentary, as she already felt positive about her relationship with him before his death.

Count to 10 and get your anger under control

Article Abstract:

Management consultants believe that there is a general lack of awareness among companies about the potentially negative impact of anger in the office environment. People working in environments where anger and fear are the dominant emotions tend to be less productive than those working in relaxed, happy environments. It is increasingly common for employees to become angry as they come under greater stress and feel frustrated about losing control over their destiny. Learning to use strong emotions positively is becoming a key work skill.

Article Abstract:

The UK's Independent Television Commission is expected to shortly give approval to the launch of television versions of popular magazines. This follows complaints from magazine publishers which feel that they have been unfairly treated compared with broadcasters, which have not been prevented from developing magazines on the basis of television programmes. The change in regulations is expected to prompt increased cooperation between broadcasters and publishers.
