Professor Sir Dimitri Obolensky

Historian Dimitri Obolensky was born in Petrograd, Russia, in 1918. He became a fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge, England, in 1942 and acquired British nationality in 1948. He was Professor of Russian and Balkan Medieval History at Oxford University, England, between 1961 and 1985.

Professor T.C. Barker

Economic and social historian Theodore Barker was born in St Helens, England, in 1923. He studied at Jesus College, Oxford, England, and gained his PhD from Manchester University, England, in 1951. He joined the London School of Economics in 1953.
