Ryman, king of wine, goes bottoms up

Article Abstract:

Financial mismanagement has led to Hugh Ryman, son of stationery chain millionaire Nick Ryman, accumulating large debts. He is therefore being forced to sell Chateau Jaubertie, his 2 million pounds sterling wine-making operation in the Bergerac area of south-west France. He has been extremely influential in the wine industry, especially in improving the quality of ordinary drinking wine. He is confident that the chateau will be sold, as he plans to change the bondholders into shareholders, thus making it more attractive to potential purchasers.

Oxford debates why women are still second best

Article Abstract:

Oxford University has called in educational research Dr Margaret Spear to undertake a 10-month investigation into the relative under-achievement of female students. Some observers believe that the methodical approach which female students tend to take towards final examinations may be preventing them from achieving a top-class degree. It is certainly the case that female students obtain fewer top-class degrees than their male counterparts.

Charles: I want to be King

Article Abstract:

It now looks increasingly likely that the Prince and Princess of Wales will divorce. However, Prince Charles has declared that he will not re-marry, thus emphasising his intention to become King. This goes against recent speculation that the Royal Family may miss a generation. It is not yet known whether the Princess of Wales will agree to a divorce.
