Serious Fraud office chief is new DPP

Article Abstract:

The head of the Serious Fraud Office (SFO), Barbara Mills, has been appointed as the new Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) at a crucial time for the Crown Prosecution Service. Mrs Mills came to public attention in her two years with the SFO and is the first woman to hold the position of DPP which was openly advertised for the first time for this appointment. She takes on the role as DPP at a time when the legal system has been rocked by miscarriages of justice.

Brinsworth House in Twickenham, London is a home for retired entertainers which has been open since about 1900. The house was set up by variety artists of the time including Lillie Langtry and is now supported by the Entertainment Artiste's Benevolent Fund.
