Perpetual discounts end

Article Abstract:

Unit trust brokers offer clients a discount out of their commission, depriving the management group of customers. Perpetual pressurised Chelsea Financial Services (CFS) unit trust brokers of London, England, to stop advertising this practice after many complaints from independent financial advisers. Perpetual gave CFS 3% commission and 2% discount, CFS kept 1% and gave the client 4%. A further 25-50 brokers had been offering clients a similar discount. Brokers receive an annual commission for PEPs for little work.

Donald Horobin

Article Abstract:

Donald Horobin was a journalist who was head of the news desk for ITN from 1961 to 1984. He worked as a newspaper journalist on the Birmingham Gazette and Despatch when he was appointed to his post in television. He was keen to follow stories and his tenacity and ability to deal with logistics were remarkable. He stressed achievement in his presentation of the news when extra stories were needed after the evening news program was made to last half an hour, and cameras were sent to wilder parts of the world.
