Skiing for New England

Article Abstract:

The New England states of Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire are becoming increasingly popular with British people seeking a skiing holiday. The snow at New England ski resorts is of acceptable quality, and piste conditions can be excellent at times. The ski resorts are generally small, but offer a range of skiing conditions and can be almost deserted during the week. It may be worth selecting a package which includes car hire, as this allows travel between different resorts.

To lunch or not to lunch?

Article Abstract:

Many Europeans regard lunch as an integral and enjoyable part of a day spent skiing, while Americans often see lunch as a waste of valuable skiing time. For this reason, lunches offered by restaurants at American ski resorts are often of poor quality. Europeans point out that enthusiasm for lunch does not mean that they are not enthusiastic about skiing, while Americans who are against stopping for lunch require restaurants only to be streamlined and functional.

Who can help when the going gets deep?

Article Abstract:

People seeking tuition in off-piste skiing have a number of different options to consider. They could choose a resort ski school which offers off-piste classes, an all-inclusive package with one of the operators which focuses on tuition guidance or classes with a British instructor working in the Alps. Courses at resort ski schools can be cancelled at the last minute if there are not enough students, and hiring a private instructor can be very expensive.
