Most wines have benefits for health when taken in moderation with a meal as a supplement to medication. Dr Emmeric Maury recommends Sauternes for stomach pains, Riesling for obesity and red wines, particularly Saint-Emilion and Medoc, to reduce atherosclerosis. Phenolic flavenoids in grape skins work as anti-oxidants. Bordeaux contains minerals which combat fatigue. Blancs de Blancs is a diuretic, which can help rheumatoid arthritis. Muscadet aids digestion.
