Testosterone Tess and the Baldy Sisters

Article Abstract:

Women who work in a male-dominated environment must often be quite aggressive and competitive. Some observers believe that this can cause a hormone imbalance to arise, and that women can develop increased sensitivity to testosterone. In some women, this can lead to bald patches emerging. They can also develop thicker hair on their bodies and a deeper voice. Other observers dispute this view, claiming that reports about women changing their appearance are simply designed to deter women from entering male-dominated environments.

Want a baby? Move to Glasgow

Article Abstract:

The availability of IVF treatment for infertility in the UK varies considerably between health authorities. In some cases, IVF treatment may hardly be available at all, forcing couples to pay for private treatment, while in others it may be fairly readily available. The National Infertility Awareness Campaign believes that the availability of IVF treatment should be based on clinical judgement, rather than on rationing. It also highlights the problem of infertility not been regarded as a real illness.

Juggling: it's not the way to relax

Article Abstract:

Many families in the UK find that they spend very little time together. Two out of three families now have two incomes, and it is very common for women with young children to work outside the home. In many cases, families have very complicated arrangements to deal with tasks such as childcare and housework, and partners may spend almost no time together at all. They often feel that they are merely surviving, and that they have no time to do what they would really like to do.
