Triple murderer trapped by TV show

Article Abstract:

Producers of the popular Italian television programme 'Chi l'ha visto?' have come into conflict with police officers over Ferdinando Carretta, who was wanted for the suspected murder of his parents and brother. He had been living in the UK, but was persuaded by the programme's producers to return to Italy after they had filmed his confession. They wanted his confession to be revealed exclusively on the programme, but he was arrested by police before he could be taken to the television studios.

The Dando inquiry 55 days on - and all the police have are just theories

Article Abstract:

Police officers investigating the murder of television presenter Jill Dando on Apr 26, 1999, appear to have made little real progress so far. Indeed, there is growing speculation that this murder may become one of the around 10% that is never solved. However, the officers working on the case remain optimistic, pointing out that a great deal of detailed work will be required before the case is solved. They feel that it will be necessary to identify a motive for the murder before the murderer can be found.
