The Peter & Jane show
Article Abstract:
Peter Allen and Jane Garvey have become extremely popular as presenters of Radio 5's 'The Breakfast Programme.' This programme now attracts 1.75 million listeners, and this has prompted the decision to extend it by 30 minutes. Listeners seem particularly attracted to the humorous exchanges between the two presenters, a feature which distinguishes the programme from the rapid pace of Radio 1 and the formality of Radio 4's 'Today' programme. They seem to work very well together, but also manage to make listeners feel included.

True romance - or just a microceleb on the make?
Article Abstract:
There has been considerable media interest in the romance between James Major, son of former UK Prime Minister John Major, and Emma Noble, model and game show hostess. Noble, who is now managed by publicist Neil Reading, is in considerable demand for endorsement work, while Major is planning to set up his own nightclub. The couple only met in Feb 1998, but became engaged in May 1998. Reading denies that the couple are more in love with publicity than with each other.
