The Right Rev Trevor Huddleston

Article Abstract:

Priest Trevor Huddleston studied for three years at Christ Church, Oxford, England, and then went straight to Wells Theological College. He was ordained deacon at the age of 23 and priest at the age of 24. He was professed in 1941 as a member of the Community of the Resurrection, and was sent to South Africa. He served as Provincial for the Community of the Resurrection in South Africa in from 1949 to 1955, and, after returning to the UK for five years, was elected bishop of Masasi in 1960. He was most well known for his strong opposition to apartheid.

Trevor Gardner

Article Abstract:

Colonial administrator and university treasurer Trevor Gardner went straight from Queen's College, Oxford, England, to the Army during the second world war. Following the war, he joined the Colonial Service and was sent to Fort Jameson in Northern Rhodesia. He was particularly influential as Northern Rhodesia's representative on the Monckton Commission. He was appointed Treasurer at Cambridge University, England, in 1969.

Zoologist and animal-welfare researcher Trevor Poole was born in Bradford, England, in 1931. He studied at the University College of Wales in Bangor and in 1959 became Lecturer in the dept of Zoology at the University College of Wales in Aberystwyth.
