The Triassic educators who always fail our children

Article Abstract:

Those who fear that standards in UK universities may fall because the number of students being admitted is rising are misguided. It is important to ensure that as many young people as possible have the opportunity to achieve high educational standards and enter university. For the same reason, A-level examinations should not be made harder, as this would only benefit a very small minority of particularly able young people. All schools should have the freedom to assist their students in qualifying for post-school education and leading a fulfilled life.

True confessions of a reformed ballot-stuffer

Article Abstract:

Most politicians in the UK seem to accept that it is necessary to make compromises and take difficult decisions to win. They do not expect to be treated fairly by the media or by fellow politicians. There is a strong sense of what a 'proper' politician should be, and this excludes people who have fallen into the trap of being too truthful. However, ordinary people are beginning to question politicians much more closely, and are no longer willing to accept that politics inevitably involves some dishonesty.
