A steep price to pay for some country cachet

Article Abstract:

The top 1992 model of the luxurious Range Rover, the Vogue LSE, costs 40,000 pounds sterling. Its wheelbase is eight inches longer than the standard model and the engine is 4.2 litre. Improved sound-proofing decreases engine, road and wind noise levels. Electronic air suspension improves the ride quality, especially off-road. Soft leather upholstery and poplar timber beautify the interior. The LSE cannot be matched for off-road functionality.

A golden opportunity lost

Article Abstract:

The new Vauxhall Astra GSi suffers from many of the faults which afflicted the Astra 16v and needs further development to reach its full potential. Although visually very acceptable as a hot hatch, the car still has problems with steering and braking at high speed despite electronic traction control fitted as standard. Well equipped for the price, and with fair success at rallies, it could be developed into a good sports car.
