Should you invest in...paper and packaging?

Article Abstract:

Paper and packaging are both extremely cyclical industries, and this means that they tend to attract only limited attention from investors. The paper industry has benefited from a general rise in world commodity prices, but paper manufacture remains a low-margin business. The two main paper stocks in the UK are DS Smith and Arjo Wiggins. In packaging, there are many fragmented operators all looking to develop specialist products.

Bonds are the punters' favourite

Article Abstract:

Many savers in the UK are switching their money from low-interest deposit accounts into share-based investments. In most cases, this is because deposit accounts now offer very low returns. Savers are becoming particularly interested in with-profits bonds and equity bonds. However, financial advisers warn that savers are not always aware that switching to share-based investments means that they are taking on a significant risk.
