Article Abstract:

A woman recounts her experiences of losing her father and brother on climbing expeditions. She tells of her emotions on hearing the news that her father had died of heart failure on Cairn Toul in the Cairngorms in Jul 1979. Her desire to persuade her brother to give up climbing following the death of their father is recounted. Her extreme reaction to the death of her brother in an avalanche on Ben Nevis in Feb 1982 is also detailed.

Article Abstract:

A bacterial dispersion test was undertaken in 1963 on the Northern Line of the London underground system following growing concerns that London could become the target for an attack by biological weapons. Details of this test have recently been revealed in documents released under the Thirty Year Rule. The results of the test were inconclusive, and almost no suggestions were made for countermeasures in the event of such an attack.

Article Abstract:

Anthony Blunt is most well-known as recruiter of spies for the KGB, but in fact he was much more influential as an art historian. He was director of the Courtauld Institute between 1947 and 1973, and during that time identified and encouraged many young art historians.
