The clown prince of Wales

Article Abstract:

Rhodri Morgan, who is seeking to become leader of the Labour party in Wales, and thus First Secretary in the Welsh Assembly, is regarded as being rather unpredictable. He has gained the support of Labour party members and trade unions in Wales, but some observers feel that it would be unwise to rely on him. Those at the headquarters of the Labour party in London, England, are particularly concerned about his preoccupation with freedom of information, as well as his outspoken criticism of quangos.

Do the Welsh deserve Snowdon?

Article Abstract:

There has been an appeal to raise funds so that Snowdonia, Wales, can be owned by the Welsh. The National Trust has launched this appeal, and Sir Anthony Hopkins, actor, has contributed 1 million pounds sterling. Donations from Wales have been sparse compared with donations from elsewhere. Welsh culture is more appealing from outside Wales. Within Wales, the Welsh Labor party is in opposition to the head of the Labor party in government, and is afraid of losing power.
