The little man from nowhere who made it ever so big

Article Abstract:

Motor racing executive Bernie Ecclestone has received considerable publicity recently because of controversy over political donations. However, he is actually a very secretive person, and little is known about how he became the world's highest paid executive. There is uncertainty surrounding his origins, but he is now president of the Formula One Constructors' Association, which represents motor racing teams, and vice-president of the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile. He has an extensive business empire.

Too late - yet again

Article Abstract:

The US is considering changes to its plans to send a multi-national humanitarian force to eastern Zaire as more and more Hutu refugees return to Rwanda from Zaire. However, other observers believe that troops are still urgently needed in the region, even though the Rwandan president has stated that aid is the main requirement, not military force. The response of the west to the crisis in Zaire has been characterised by delays and indecision.

Embracing the Jewish tradition

Article Abstract:

There are mixed views about whether the concept of Judeo-Christian heritage has any real meaning. There are ways in which Judaism differs very significantly from Christianity, particularly in its ritual. However, there are connections between the two faiths, including the Jewish prayers which Christians have adopted. If a Judeo-Christian inheritance does not yet really exist in the UK, then it is now time to consider creating one.
