UK: CANDOVER IN BRANNIGANS BAR DISPOSAL

Article Abstract:

Candover Investments disposed of its Brannigans bar chain on 26 June 2000 in a move that will allow the UK-based venture capital group to concentrate on the 44 nightclubs acquired in November 1999 from First Leisure. Mustard Entertainment Restaurants, which is supported by the Phildrew Ventures investment business, paid GB[pound] 67mn for the 14 Brannigans outlets together with a further six public houses. Mustard, a newly established business, says that over the coming three years, it will look to double the Brannigans operation.

UK: NOBLE HOUSE DELAYS W&D BID

Noble House Leisure, the pubs and restaurants company, has delayed plans to launch a revised offer for Wolverhampton & Dudley Breweries. It will now wait until immediately before or after W&D releases a trading statement on 25 September.
