The selling of Jackie Onassis

Article Abstract:

The recent auction of a wide range of objects owned by Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis attracted great interest, with more than 90,000 written bids having been submitted in advance. The auction raised much more money than had been originally anticipated. After commission, all of this will go to her children. Many observers have expressed surprise at how much the children allowed to be sold, and have speculated about how much they may still own.

Eurowoman prefers big, bold carats

Article Abstract:

British women traditionally wear pearls and small stud or hoop earrings and an antique brooch, compared to the continental habit of wearing larger, unique pieces. French women prefer jewellery with colour and sensuality and German women choose geometric jewellery. The gold jewellery industry is promoting its image after the recession. The European influence has created an increased demand for 18-carat gold in bolder designs in the UK.
