The two universes of the Lord presenter

Article Abstract:

Considerable controversy has surrounded the BBC's decision to remove Melvyn Bragg from his role as presenter of Radio 4's 'Start the Week.' The BBC has stated that the decision was motivated by Bragg's ennoblement as a Labour peer, but some observers believe that Bragg's position had become insecure before this development. He has attracted some political enemies, and those who interview him regularly have stated that he is vain and rude. However, those who have known and worked with him for many years are sympathetic towards him.

How Auntie treated Sue

Article Abstract:

Sue MacGregor has been undervalued as a presenter of the BBC's Today programme. The high-profile political interviews are given to her male colleagues, even though she is very popular among audiences. The fact that she is not merely a token female presenter is reflected in the problem of identifying a replacement for her when she retires.
