Article Abstract:

Channel 4 and BBC2 have introduced 'seasons' to their scheduling of television programmes, offering viewing on a theme. Some people appreciate context to enhance their enjoyment of television. Provision of a theme allows further use of archive material. During Oct/Nov 1992 BBC2's season is about war and peace, including the cost of modern warfare, conscientious objectors, war memorials and psychology. Channel 4 has a short season on Latin American life which aims to give an accumulative understanding of the country.

Rory who?

Article Abstract:

A change in career direction could be appropriate even if the Conservative party wins the next general election, according to satirical impressionist Rory Bremner, who has become famous through impersonating leading Conservatives over recent years. If the Labour party wins the election, he would face a severe lack of material, but he is considering taking a new approach in any case. His television series is currently highly structured, but the new trend in satire is a less structured form.
