Through the eyes of a child

Article Abstract:

It is common for politicians and the media in the UK to be very critical of the behaviour of poor and disadvantaged children. In particular, young single mothers are portrayed as irresponsible and inadequate. It would be better for politicians and the media to look closely at the way in which disadvantaged families are treated by society. It is important to recognize that living in a disadvantaged community brings many challenges and to take care to listen properly to the views of poor and disadvantaged children.

The next generation will be feminists in all but name

Article Abstract:

It is widely believed that there is no real future for feminism because women have now gained equality with men. Certainly, feminism in the UK will have no future unless feminists accept the way in which women's lives have improved. However, it is also important to recognize that women still encounter significant challenges. Feminism still has a future while women continue to be denied economic and political equality with men.
