To the manor born. Then the National Trust took over

Article Abstract:

Chastleton House in Oxfordshire, England, was built in 1610 by Walter Jones, a wealthy wool merchant. It was sold to the National Trust in 1991 by Barbara Clutton-Brock, and has since undergone extensive restoration. It has recently been opened to the public. Looking after the house had been a great financial burden for successive generations, and this is why so many of its original Jacobean futures were left untouched. Treasures include 16th century Flemish tapestries and 17th century 'flamestitch' wall hangings.

Proof that travel really can broaden the mind

Article Abstract:

Many UK colleges now offer courses in tourism. These cover many different subjects, including customer service, marketing and researching destinations. Many students are attracted to tourism because they wish to travel, but in fact many will find that a career in tourism involves them working in an office, at least initially. Hotel management offers lucrative jobs for graduates, with the leading hotel chains offering opportunities for promotion into managerial positions.
