Total eclipse

Article Abstract:

A total eclipse of the sun, as will be visible in Cornwall, England, on Aug 11, 1999, has frequently been seen in history as a bad omen. Like a lunar eclipse, a solar eclipse has been regarded as presaging terrible events. In certain cases, this has become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Even ancient civilizations were able to predict eclipses, and almost all of them turned the awe of seeing a solar or lunar eclipse into a dread. Lunar eclipses are inherently easier to predict than solar eclipses, as a lunar eclipse leads to a large shadow of the Earth being cast over the Moon.

You were a perfect baby

Article Abstract:

In the future, it may be possible that genetic research reaches a stage where couples can choose all the genes for their babies. A market economy in genes could develop, with the genes for high intelligence, for example, costing more than the genes for average intelligence. A stage may even be reached where the terms of a contract with the gene retailer may allow a couple to send back a baby which did not meet their requirements.
