Tough love finds a way to beat heroin

Article Abstract:

Heroin addiction is becoming an increasing problem in the United Kingdom and is affecting young people in rural areas where one might not expect to find such problems. Users may come from stable backgrounds and can be as young as 12-years-old. Users may manipulate parents in order to obtain money, and parents may have to use tough love. This can involve a risk of loss of contact between parents and children. Mothers are more likely to continue to help children and find it more difficult to be tought han fathers.
