Turn on, turn off

Article Abstract:

Travelling is a very good way of meditating, according to Thom Yorke, a member of rock group Radiohead. A lot of material for the group's new album, 'OK Computer,' was written while travelling around. The group has already released a single from the album, entitled 'Paranoid Android.' Yorke believes that this is not uncommercial, even though it is six-and-a-half minutes long and is really three songs combined into one. It clearly shows Yorke's feelings about the potentially negative impact of fame.

Blur: see 'rock 'n' roll.'

Article Abstract:

Rock 'n' roll band Blur does not seem to have been negatively affected by the declining fortunes of similar bands of the 1994 to 1995 era. It remains extremely popular, as demonstrated at a recent live performance at the Point Depot in Dublin, Ireland. Here, the group performed a selection of its most impressive music, including 'The Universal,' 'She's So High' and 'There's No Other Way.' It has recently released a new album, 'Blur,' which closely reflects the attractions of its live performances.

Rock and a hard place

Article Abstract:

China Drum, rock band from Newcastle, UK, has been to Bosnia-Herzegovina as part of a world tour. The group is the first UK band to play there since the war ended. The trip to Bosnia should have been organised by the UK army, but it backed out, blaming operational difficulties, so the band organised the visit itself through The Serious Road Trip, an aid agency based in London. The band played at two clubs in Sarajevo, supported by ZOCH, a local group, and Protest, respectively.
