Turning a blind eye to history

Article Abstract:

There seems to be a growing trend in the Middle East towards denying that the extreme horrors of the Holocaust ever took place. Many Arabs believe that the Israelis invented Hitler's destruction of the European Jews in order to justify their seizure of Palestinian Arab land. They fail to recognise that Hitler would eventually have treated Arabs in the same way as he treated Jews, and do not seem able to acknowledge the suffering of the Jews.

The Middle East trembles as Turkey's new alliance takes shape

Article Abstract:

The new military relationship between Turkey and Israel has given Turkey the confidence to take a tough stance against criticism from Arab countries. It has warned, for example, that Arab leaders meeting shortly in Egypt should not criticise Turkey's dispute with Syria over the Euphrates river. It is now possible that an alliance will emerge between Turkey, Israel, the US and Jordan.
