UK: DRINKING TEA HAS MANY HEALTH BENEFITS

Article Abstract:

Recent research has shown that a cup of tea can help reduce heart disease by 44% and the risk of pancreatic, prostate, stomach and lung cancer. The benefits are believed to come from a range of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that are nutritious and have anti-ageing properties. Drinking tea also increases fluid intake preventing constipation and cystitis. The benefits of black or green tea derive from the fact that they are a rich source of potassium and manganese as well as vitamins such as vitamin A, B6, B1 and B2. Potassium helps maintain a normal heartbeat, enables nerves to function and regulates fluid levels in cells. Manganese is needed for bone growth and overall body development.

A tea please, Bob

Article Abstract:

Whittard of Chelsea, which has been selling high quality tea and coffee in the UK since 1886, is seeking to boost the profile of tea with the t-bar, its first cafe. This cafe offers 45 different varieties of tea, and Whittard of Chelsea hopes that it will be as successful as the coffee bars that have now become firmly established in the UK. The t-bar is aimed at young professionals who expect high standards in everything, but the company is also taking care not to alienate people who do not wish to pay a premium for tea.

Char for the memories

Article Abstract:

Premier Brands, owner of the Typhoo tea brand, is seeking to make tea more attractive to younger consumers. Its latest advertising campaign features shots of ordinary people doing ordinary things in unusual ways. The advertisements use music from 1970s funk group Kool and the Gang, and seek to make tea more relevant to modern life. Tea sales have declined in the UK over recent years as competition from coffee and soft drinks has increased.
