UK: PSION TO OFFER BLUETOOTH PRODUCTS

Article Abstract:

Psion should reveal new products on 14 June 2000 using the Bluetooth technology, which enables computers and phones to engage in wireless communications over distances of up to 10 metres. The UK-based handheld computer company also revealed on 12 June 2000 that it had purchased a minority share in US-based wireless networking business, Widcomm, which is also skilled in Bluetooth technology. Initial Bluetooth products are expected to link mobile phones to headsets.

US: FORMSCAN WARNS OF LIKELY FULL-YEAR LOSS

Article Abstract:

Formscan, AIM-listed computer hardware company, has warned it is likely to experience a full-year loss. It supplies data capture equipment to help companies scan customer information. It made pre-tax losses of GB[pound] 590,000 in the six months to January and disappointing turnover will generate a similar result in the second half. The company blamed delays in customers committing to major projects. Also development of a new product had been slower than expected.
